duff image 1The Duff Hockey League is a new startup league for 2008-2009 and consists of 20 teams. There are currently three open teams: the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues. Please contact kentduffer@yahoo.com if you are interested in joining the league.

The first prospect draft has begun with Columbus selecting Ilya Kovalchuk, the left winger from the Atlanta Thrashers, first overall. The Tecumseh Islanders then selected Vincent Lecavalier, the all-star center from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Going third overall to the Hershey Krustofskys was Eric Staal, the center for the Carolina Hurricanes.

The first round at least will not be timed and hopefully the league will move at such a pace that placing time limits on picks will not be necessary. If anyone has any questions contact kentduffer@yahoo.com.
